Frost & Sullivan Lauds AstaREAL

Frost & Sullivan awarded Fuji Chemical Industry Co. Ltd. its 2009 Asia Pacific Product Innovation Award in the category of Ingredients for Dietary Supplements for Fuji’s AstaREAL®, astaxanthin. Fuji has

developed different forms of [AstaREAL®, including oil and powder, and supported scientific research into its ability to positively impact eye health, muscle endurance and skin health. Fuji Health Science is the company's North American operation and BioReal (Sweden) AB is the European and African operation.

Mitsunori Nishida, president and CEO of Fuji Chemical Industry Ltd., said, “It has taken us 15 years of intensive research, process development and market development to become the most vertically integrated supplier of natural astaxanthin made from the microalgae called Haematococcus pluvialis. This was possible through the collaborative efforts of Japanese, Swedish and American scientists within the Fuji group.
